Took me awhile but I finished. I started with David Schramm's Online Apprentice over a year ago (1976 Miguel Rodriguez, Jr. Classic Guitar), finished with the help of Cumpiano's book, Courtnall's book, Ostberg's website, and this forum. Made from lumber I obtained from Hogan hardwoods and Woodcraft, the exception being the top (lmii's 2nd grade wrc) and the rossete. Woods used are Span. cedar neck, gaboon ebony fingerboard, macasser ebony bindings, wrc top, sapele back and sides, Honduras rosewood bridge. French Polish. Many thanks to all those who offered helpful comments along the way, especially on the French polish. I'm hooked, ready to make another. Comments and critique would be appreciated so I can improve on the next one.

Thanks Jimson, MichaelP's comments on this forum helped me out on the finish. I don't have much to compare to on sound, but it sounds way better than my $100 yamaha 250c.Marc38904.7372569444

Uhmmmm...I don't see much room for improvement, Marc. That looks really nice!

I agree with Larry and Carlton, not much room for improvement as far as looks go. Maybe sound can be improved, but that is something that everyone thinks they need to improve on. You should be very proud of this effort. I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Marc, sunburst it and you've got a killer.

In all seriousness, I'm stunned that this is your first, and that polish is just amazing.

Bravo!

Beautiful craftmanship! When do you start number 2?

Very nice. I agree hard to improve on.

A couple of astetic things which of course are based on personal taste. I personally like more contrast in color on the bridge and venner headstock face plate. I think this would bring out the shape of your headstock and the details around the headstock slots more. By the way did you taper the tops of the slots or what? It looks kind of cool and different, but I am having trouble seeing it clearly.

Congratulations and keep going, very well done!

Best wishes,

Tomas
